More of a local spot (than tourist) with black sand beaches, open air outdoor showers, bathrooms, and free parking. Gets very busy on weekends. Lighthouse was originally designed by Robert Louis Stevenson's father (it has been expanded since then) and is in the area where Captain James Cook visited to do scientific measurements.
