Phap Hoa Pagoda — Attraction in Marseille

Vegetarian lunch 1st Sunday each month for minimum €10 contribution. Food was good day I went. Nice atmosphere. Very, very difficult to find at end of a steep narrow unmarked lane off Bd Savine which is first proper right unmarked turn off Ch Vallon des Tuves. Walk slowly along Savine look up to your right and you´ll see the temple. There´s no signs to it from the road. Served by no.30 bus from Bougainville. Googlemaps was useless as was a printed map....

I ring the bell and some dogs arrived to "welcome" me. They were agressive and from the inside I just saw a woman or a man. I wave at her/him and smiled but he/she waved to me for "No, you can't enter". That happened today 09.03.2019. I bowed to show respect and left with smile. Hope the bad vibes disapear from that interesting place at some point. I was so exited going there but now I am leaving down the hill with a bit of sorrow...

Aujourd’hui j’ai fait une super découverte, une balade insolite, une échappée belle dépaysante dans la ville dans laquelle je vis depuis 20 ans, insoupçonné, parce qu''insoupçonnable si ce n'était la curiosité, qui m’a poussé à découvrir la Pagode Phap Hoa, j’ai participé aux cérémonies du jour et aux repas végétarien du jour. Après cette pause j’ai pu me baladez dans l’enceinte de la Pagode. Pour moi un moment fort des rencontres inattendues, un autre regard sur Marseille ! Pour information on se déchausse à la pagode, pour participer à la prière. Le repas vietnamien se règle sur place (10€ à régler en espèce à la Pagode). Le repas se fait 1 fois par mois le 1 er dimanche. Alors je vous le recommande vivement, vraiment,...
