Pédalorail du Grand Pays de Salers — Attraction in Mauriac

It was fun and friendly and interesting to learn about the viaduct construction. But it just has its limits. On a pedalo you can go where you want or nowhere at all. On a railway line you go where it takes you, and you can't go any faster or slower than those in front or behind you. So it's not so relaxing. And while the Cantal is lovely, there is so much happy undergrowth, and such a healthy tree stock that you can't really see more than five metres either side of the rails (the photo being the one moment of exception). We did the 2hr tour with electric assistance, and the outbound journey is downhill, so no assistance, and no need to pedal... But you've got to come back!! On the return it is sooo steep (for a train line) and the pedalos are sooo heavy that it is really quite hardcore sport, not so much dreamy relaxation. The electric takes care of everything, and makes you feel like a cheat! Don't get me wrong, me and my 7yr old son had fun, we enjoyed it and don't regret our visit, just seeing the cast iron ballustrade on the viaducts is worth it, but know the...

Great activity for all the family. We took the all day extra long route to a lake, going over viaducts and through pitch black tunnels!! (Torch provided for the feint hearted 😂) pedalling down hill most of the way. We were very glad of the electric assist on the way back! It does take a good few hours, but the scenery is amazing and the route is varied. The lake has picnic tables and chairs and the water was warm enough to swim in (august) There is plenty of room on the vehicle to put picnic bags etc even with all 5 of our seats filled. Super friendly guide who was kind enough to explain everything in English for us when our French was not as good as it should have been 😉 Cost about €120 for all 5 of us for the day, which is pretty good value. We all said we would do it again...

cadre sympa au niveau de l'ancienne gare de Drignac - Ally. Nous y sommes allés en famille à 5 (mon épouse, ma fille, mes beaux parents et moi-même) en août 2021 sur les flyers distribués sur les pare brise des voitures le tarif affichés aux alentours le tarif indiqué pour le pédalo rail électrique est indiqué 45 €, avec remise de 5 euros si présentation du flyers. Sur place, le tarif est 48 € sans réduction. départ prévu à 18h00, départ effectué à 18h30. Soit disant des personnes était arrivées en retard à la cession précédente. et le préposé chargé des pédalos rails doit lui même effectuer le retournement des pédalos sur la retonde puis nous accompagner sur le trajet avec une voiture aménagée pour rouler sur la voie ferrée Pas moyen d'aller à la vitesse maximum car devant nous il y a l'accompagnateur en voiture aménagée pour aller sur les rails. le cadre naturel est moyen, vieille voie ferrée mal entretenue, passage dans la nature sans beau paysage. Au retour la batterie était à plat et on s'est fait pousser par la voiture accompagnante, le moteur à inertie commençait à fumer, obligation de faire sauter la crémaillère d’entraînement du moteur sinon il risquait de brûler. L'accompagnateur était perdu (probablement un étudiant) il n'a pas réussi à joindre son patron au téléphone (pas de réseau) et au final à force nous pousser la voiture de l'accompagnateur à rendu l'âme également à l'arrivée en pétant un joint de culasse. Pas de possibilité de négocier un remboursement de la prestation car le gérant était plus préoccupé par son véhicule que par le pédalo rail et ses client.
