Plage Le Petit Travers — Attraction in Montpellier

Nice place, lot of entrances to the beach, all numbered like 70, 69, 68 etc. Though free parking could be quite a challenge during summer season, place is full of tourists. Surprisingly if you go further to the direction of Grand Travers, the beach won't be too crowded. So if you come there, try to come before 10am. Dont wash your car as it will be dusted as parking is located on an unpaved road. Once you parked your car, you need to head around 50-100m to the beach. Some paths are covered by wood, some are fully thru sand, that's to say it could be an issue to drag a trolley if you have kids, not speaking of a wheelchair. That's not everywhere, just find the right exit to the beach there are many. Toilets are close to the parking, one for each two exits. Good luck, I wish you'll enjoy your stay in Montpellier! PS overall it is a shellwater place over there, it's not deep first 10-20 meters, say up to my shoulders, could be good for children. Waves are normally slight and calm. The season starts (for locals) in the mid of July. I remember swimming in April, it was chilly but yet ok. From mid of July it will last till mid/end of August. Again, end of August is fine. ACHTUNG!!! DIEBESBANDE auf dem Parkplatz bei den Strandzugängen!

Am besten nimmt man nur sein Strandequip mit und schließt eine Teilkasko ab.

Auf dem Parkplatz zu den Strandzugängen hat sich eine Bande niedergelassen. Im Tandem, einer auf dem Parkplatz und einer am Strand, beobachten sie bei den Strandzugängen wer neu ankommt und wer sich am Strand niederlässt / ins Meer geht. Sobald man im Wasser quasi außer Gefecht ist schlagen sie zu, im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes, das Ziel sind die kleinen hinteren Fenster, bei denen bei vielen Automodellen nicht der Alarm losgeht. Von da aus wird die Tür geöffnet und das Auto geräumt.

Wir kamen um 13 Uhr an einem Dienstag an und um 13:30 Uhr war unser Auto bereits aufgebrochen und komplett geleert (sogar die 3€ Wassermelone). Das Problem ist bekannt, dar der Abschnitt regelmäßig von Kitesurfern genutzt wird, welche uns beim erklären des Sachverhalts mir der Polizei geholfen haben. Sie selbst kommen auch nur noch mit komplett leeren Autos. Die Polizei hat uns das Vorgehen der Bande erklärt (an diesem Dienstag waren wir der 7. Fall), unternehmen aber nichts dagegen.
