I'd recommend that all non-French visitors stay far, far away! The proprietress is aggressive and rude, especially since the signage and expectation of the property are not clearly explained to begin with. (It is a private home with people living in it, and only gives tours once a day.) It is not a welcoming site for tourists, and was the only negative experience we've had in Brittany. I've never been so suddenly, verbally attacked at a tourist destination for sitting on the ground in front of the castle. The woman said she wasn't surprised by our rudeness considering we were British. That we wouldn't have behaved like that if we were French (this was all while we were just trying to figure out what the issue was to begin with) and that we were ruining our children (who didn't speak to anyone while we were on the property). This castle was the only blight on our otherwise lovely trip to Brittany. Avoid it...
Read moreWe’ve just had a wonderful family afternoon at the Chateau. We received a very warm welcome and were able to do a self tour of the castle. The history information is in both French and English. The building itself is in remarkable condition considering its age and history. We were able to view much more of the castle than I was expecting considering it’s still a family home. In fact we met the current owners and they were so friendly and welcoming. We were lucky enough to see some history reenactment of guns and cannons being fired. I would highly recommend visiting, it’s a beautiful building with a historic story to tell. A must visit if you are holidaying or visiting in the area. We were two adults and two children 7 and 9 years old, we all really loved our time at...
Read moreWe were warmly welcomed by the owner of the castle at the ticket office. He gave us some explanation about the different parts available to visit and we took a Treasure hunt for our son. The castle is really worth the visit! We started with the maze and had a lot of fun. The castle itself is very interesting and well kept. It’s still family owned so it’s always nice to support the owners. After that we took a walk befind the castle to see the other landmarks. We were very sorry to miss the Medieval feasts as it seemed a very exciting activity to do for families! Thank you for this...
