Château de Kerjean — Attraction in Morlaix

Car parking all under trees, brilliant in hot weather. Nice walk up to the chateau. entrance was 9.50€ on July 2023. On entering a video show on the history of the chateau 15 mins very well presented. Then you proceed around diffrent parts with several video's explaining different aspects around you. All in English. Found this very good. At the later part of the tour information seemed to go a little of course and into the origins of slavery which were not related to the chateau. Didn't tour the grounds but worth a visit. Small shop and cafe. Overall worth a visit but I would say not with young children or wheelchair users. Lots of up and down stairs.About 40 mins easy drive...

We haven't been there for many years and by looking at the guide book it must have been around 2010 or 2011, before the wonderful trees that are there now had grown.

It was sad to see the old Pidgeons house covered in ivy, at that time it was a beautiful building to see, the château seems to be slowly being overgrown as well in places, having said that it is an amazing place to visit, the staff are extremely helpful, the cafe very good, do try the fruit drinks chilled.

We will be visiting again as ther was just too much to see and we want to walk around the old moat area.

The exhibition of old furniture is not to be missed, so glad it was able to be saved and now...

Ce magnifique château vaut que nous lui consacrions au minimum une demie journée. Pique nique à notre arrivée dans le parc. Tables disponibles à l'entrée des parkings sud ombragés. Possibilité de visiter le parc particulièrement étendu. Arbres remarquables à observer, points de vue variés sur le château et son enceinte. Idéal pour les amateurs de photos. Attention aux nombreux et très petits crapauds près de la mare, il ne faut pas les écraser. Pour l'intérieur du site, prévoir une demie journée surtout si vous faîtes une visite guidée. L'exposition thématique de cette année " terre, terre " est de grande qualité avec des sources et objets variés. Une belle et originale ouverture à la culture historique de la conquête du monde. Bravo ! Merci au jeune guide pour ses explications. L'architecture et les intérieurs du château valent vraiment le détour. Le film de présentation des lieux est particulièrement réussi. Faire le tour du château par le jardin est indispensable pour apprécier sa beauté et visiter l'intérieur de l'enceinte sud est. Merci à Matthieu qui a animé les ateliers des journées européennes de l'archéologie, il nous a fait découvrir les différents métiers gravitant autour de cette discipline. La boutique est soignée et jolie. Belle et riche diversité des produits vendus. Merci pour l'accueil agréable. Possibilité de petite restauration et de profiter de la terrasse.
