Ideal for French families and stag/hen parties who want to stay in a rented metal cabin and annoy traditional campers, but if you arrive with a tent, campervan or caravan, be prepared to tolerate the invasive mosquitoes, rowdy and raucous private parties that go on until 2 or 3 in the morning, and the loud poolside music & entertainment that thankfully eventually ceases around 11pm.||It would appear that more and more of the site is being given over to rental cabins, which would be ok if the touring plots were not mixed in with them. At most campsites, traditional campers are great about observing an evening noise curfew, but not here as most of those using the site are not regular campers....||The touring pitches, although a decent size, are located off the narrow access roads with sold hedge dividers, and are really difficult to access especially if you are unfortunate to have one of the 2 rear ones in a block of 4. We felt unable to leave site in our motorhome for day trips, as we deemed the manoeuvring to get out and then back into the pitch be too much hassle. ||The unisex toilet blocks, although kept immaculately clean, are really badly lit with very few rooflights for natural daylight and you can’t see easily within the WC cubicles, especially at night, which can be off-putting for nervous ladies as they are all unisex.||Other than those gripes, the pool, waterslides, play areas, astroturf football pitch, shop & laundry are all great for families, with the facilities ideally suited for unsupervised unruly children and boisterous and irresponsible young adults.||Would we go...
Read moreJust returned from 10 days here. Is a good and lean site and the pool is brilliant for children. Used mini club and staff great. The best has to be the entertainment - such a high standard and great fun. Titanic, Michael Jackson and even Christmas celebrations I kid you not. Bastille day celebrations were memorable. Didn't come across any english people on the site which was fine.Entertainment is renowned here I think and was important as the location is not great - off a main road and you can't walk anywhere and taxis few and far between - EUR30 to get to supermarket 2 miles away. Would hire a car or drive here. However we did use the free shuttle to the beach twice and go buses and trams to Montpellier but public transport hit and miss. Le Grau du Roi is walking distance from the beach shuttle bus stop and lovely place on the river to eat and shop. Bring mosquito repellent as they are everywhere. Also bring a tea towel and mug as no cups in the cottage only expresso size! I was drinking coffee from a glass etc not ideal. One last point I wish someone would have told us - men bring budgie smugglers or speedos as no swimming shorts allowed in pool for men or boys and the life guards are military in monitoring this - had to buy some for EUR 17 from the shop onsite.||||So we had a fab holiday and the entertainment and music really made it for us! Good atmosphere onsite and children enjoyed fetching bread from the bakery. Prices in onsite shop not too bad.Really enjoyed pool and shuttle to the beach. Would have explored more if had a car with us but we flew into...
