Domaine de la Chevrue "muscadet - nantais" — Attraction in Nantes

Have just spent an amazing three nights camping at a winery in Vertou just outside of Nantes completely free of charge.

The hospitality shown by the family that own this winery is second to none, you are welcomed with a wine tasting, free water and electricity and plenty of room to let the dogs run in the vines.

The wine is delicious, especially the muscadet that is the speciality of the region, and at €4 a bottle is very reasonably priced and worth every penny.

There is also a market in the town of Vertou (5km away, 20 min bike ride) on a Saturday and Sunday with LOADS of local produce on offer and a bar on site that offers local wines for €1 a glass.

If you are ever passing through Nantes (which is very limited in terms of overnight camping spots) I can’t recommend visiting Yannick and his family on this...

We arrived here quite by accident really on our trip up to Cherbourg to sail home after a great touring holiday. What a surprise! Lovely courtyard with hook up shower and toilet! Lovely evening with other guests at wine tasting with Yannick. Some super wines at great prices and bottled at source. We learned a lot about the wine growing,process, etc.Yannick is a great guy and showed my husband around his Vineyard and Farm machinery next day. Thank you so much for warm Welcome and Tasting! We found this absolute gem of a place on P4N. Yannick has to be the most generous and hospitable host we have come across whilst in our motorhome. Who also speaks faultless english. It is an ideal stop when travelling north/south. Just be careful when he starts plying you with his "friendly wine" :-) We ended up buying a selection of most of his wines (15 in total) Will definitely be back when next in the area
