This is a fantastic Chateau. It looks like right out of a fairy tale. And it's pretty massive in size. On this weekday were surprisingly few visitors. Hard to imagine, because the castle and the gardens are stunning and you can easily spent a bunch of hours here. There's plenty of parking right out front on the town square. Free of charge. 10.50 a person is a great deal, gives you access to almost everything including a self-guiding booklet with informations. Our Bulldog was welcome here as well. Free of charge.

The castles construction dates from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. At the rear façade is a terrassed lawn and an orangery. A nice sized garden completes the site. The castle and gardens are privately owned and is really kept in a great state and condition. There are plenty of rooms to discover and then you can stroll around in the wonderful gardens. It's just a pretty place. Inside and out. The very pretty Church of Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens is also on site.

Really an amazing place to be. Worth a longer drive surely. Staff is great. Welcoming and helpful. And lots of useful informations everywhere. As well as a souvenir shop of course. Definitely a highlight...

Beautiful gardens and interesting architecture and history set in beautiful countryside. The guide was french speaking only and so we were given a brochure in English to read as we went round. It was full of interesting information but difficult to fully absorb while the guide was speaking french. The visit woukd have been much enhanced if the chateau invested in one of those language recording systems that are triggered at various points on the tour. But even so this chateau is well...

Not worth the 4 euros to visit the gardens. They're in a terrible state which is a real shame. In fact the whole town is looking a little unkept, a real suprise given how beautiful most of the villages around this area are. UPDATE: Had a response from the owners rubbishing my review. I stand by what I've said. The gardens lack any tender loving care but have such a huge potential. And it's not just because it's been hot, it's obvious that they're not being...

Brilliant historical place for the family to visit. The family have worked hard to engage visitors; from thorough and interesting guides to follow, activities on site, lovely little café offering local speciality sorbets and cakes and everyone is made to feel welcome, even our family dog was allowed around the house. Excellent English spoken as well, which was very much appreciated. Thank you so much for a great afternoon!

Large castle in charming village of Jumilhac, incredible roof architecture. We'd reserved an English language tour, but our friendly guide was happy to also answer questions in Dutch and French. To do the tour and walk the gardens took a couple hours.
