The very good point of this castle is the brilliant hiking trails around the village and the castle. You park below the village where a map displays the different courses. You select one course and all you have to do is follow the well marked signs along the way. No map needed and a good selection of courses...

Pretty walks, well organised, all around the ruins of the castle and in the beech forests; take the route over the top of the escarpment to approach the castle from a dramatic viewpoint above. When we tried to visit it was full of rutting, angry goats, so we turned back - but the mountain scenery was wonderful.

An incredible experience, the views are magnificent. Enormous goats were guarding the castle which made it even better! From the castle you could easily see other stunning trails as well. It was only slightly confusing to follow the trails, I would follow AllTrails to be safe but you won’t get lost either way.
