Cascade du Bief de la Chaille — Attraction in Saint-Claude

Lovely cascading waterfall located close to the road amidst a scenic forest. It is an easy hike to the base, with an approximate distance from the road of 200 metres. Note that the trail can be a bit muddy in March/April as the snow melts, but nothing too bad (just watch out with your footing for exposed tree roots). There is a small parking space (for 2 cars) right next to the path and a few more a little further on - depending on which way you arrive (all free). At approximately the 100 metre mark, there is a signpost at a fork junction. This shows the way to the closest waterfall and directions to another one about 1km away. I thought it was definitely worthwhile visiting...

Jolie cascade où je me rend assez régulièrement en faisant de la marche à partir des Rousses. Plusieurs parcours différents sont possibles pour y accéder ce qui me permet de varier un peu. Selon les saisons et surtout les précipitations, je découvre à chaque fois un autre "visage" de ce lieu. We bezochten deze waterval op een koude (10°C) natte zomerdag dus reden naar de plaats waar de waterval staat gemarkeerd op google maps. We volgden niet het grindpad maar de geasfalteerde baan. Zo kom je uit op een kleine parking. Als we 200 m verder wandelden, zagen we het pad naar de waterval links aangeduid. Ongeveer 5 minuten naar beneden en je komt bij de waterval uit.
