Saint-Marc-sur-Mer — Attraction in Saint-Nazaire

Lots of beautiful sandy beaches and interesting info on M. Hulot and Jacques Tati for those of you who are old enough to remember the films as it was filmed there. Nice street market till midday although very pricey. We went on a Thursday, but not sure if it is open daily. A very nicely kept town centre with lovely stonework and public planting areas along with a new children's playback and a Spar shop that was being shopfitted but not yet open when we visited. We stopped in an aire at Les Jaunais, and caught the bus in €3.60 return fare for 2 which was good value for a 45minute walk and left us with enough energy to explore a bit. Not many shops, but the usual pharmacy, cafés/restaurants and a Proxy supermarket...

Nous avions passé de bonnes vacances dans un quartier agréable. MAIS nous venons de recevoir une amende de 135€ pour stationnement très gênant le soir de notre arrivé… St Marc ne doit plus vouloir de ses touristes, notre stationnement ne gênait personne et nous avions aucun autre moyen de se garer à cause du marché nocturne ! Knusse badplaats waar de tijd een beetje stil heeft gestaan. Ruim strand, mooie rotspartijen en je kunt wandelen over het smokkelaarspad. Voldoende horeca, bakker, supermarkt en wekelijkse markt. Dicht bij grotere stad en de wat mondainere badplaatsen. Leuke geschiedenis van een film die er ooit is gedraaid. Mr Hulot. De ouderwetse pier over de rotsen is 'under...
