Maison de l'Archéologie — Attraction in Saint-Omer

This is a WONDERFUL museum. Much of the information is presented in English and German as well as French. It is a multimedia experience, and a very well-done one at that. The man behind the desk was friendly and spoke English very well. And the whole thing is FREE! I’m so glad I had the chance to stop by here. It covers not only the three main eras of the town, but also considers the meta-exploration of archaeology’s development...

Stopped to use the toilet whilst walking across France, left having learn more about Thérouanne than anywhere else in Europe. Excellent free museum with very knowledgeable (and English speaking) staff, and although the display area is small they gave me a personal tour for over an hour explaining everything, bringing to life an aspect of France most tourists probably know nothing about. Un superbe petit musée / espace d'exposition! Plein d'information et d'objets archéologiques, tout disponible en francais, anglais et néerlandais, présentant la longue et tumultueuse histoire de Thérouanne. Très bien mis en valeur, expliqué et présenté - accessible aux visiteurs de tous ages avec des videos, reconstructions en 3D, maquettes, très beaux objets archéologiques.. Et c'est gratuit! On a passé une super après midi.
