Wonderful [French-speaking] guided tour of this very special property, with more than 1,500 species of plants, many beautiful to look at, and many grown for the produce they offer. Have you ever wondered what a nutmeg tree looks like? Or how ananas grow? Or why vanilla beans are so difficult to produce? Or where turmeric comes from? Our guide, Yohann, with an infectious passion for plants and botany, was super informative and didactic (even the young children from the group were mesmerised and drinking his every word!), climbing trees to pick fruit and spices to show us or even make us taste. I have seldom seen 90 minutes fly so fast and only wish i could spent the whole day there to learn and see more! ...

The gardens are a solid 10. Such variety, so many unusual types of flora, and to see orchids glowing so profusely and wild - wow! Certainly worth the visit.

As was the case in many places, other than the big museums, the gardens did not cater for any non-French speaking clients. A real pity. I would have loved to spend half a day with a knowledgeable person in this paradise.

And be aware that parking is a real problem - no real provision, just find a hole in the roadside vegetation and hope not to drive into a ditch.

Tip: When you get back to the main road, head towards Saint Joseph and look out for Warren Hasting on the right a km or so away. They do a...

Although Tourists brochure advertises in French , German and English, do not bother to go unless you can speak French! We arrived 1 hour before the tour and booked for the tour as they don’t have map or guide book so you do not know where to walk, paths and plants not marked, we waited till the guide arrived, to find the tour is only in French! False Advertising! Wish the lady doing the booking had told us we only spoke English to her and then she was rude when we requested our money back. Told us to walk around the forest on unmarked trails looking at foreign vegetation to leave as uninformed as when we arrived. VERY...

Lovely garden/forest with a wide range of species. Enjoy a walk in the green and savoir the scents and colours of the indigenous plants of Réunion. The reception’s attitude towards guests is a bit snobby if you‘re not proficient in the French language (reason for 4 stars). The shop is well stocked with partially in-house (or rather in-front-of-the-house) produced items such als spices and vanilla. A nice improvement would be a coffee machine or any sort of outlet other than factory made juices out of a fridge in the shop to savour on their beautiful front porch in the middle of the jungle.
