A gem hidden 15min car ride away from CDG airport. This museum focuses on archaeological research with history as far back as pre-historic days. ARCHÉA is also the archaeological site of Orville Castle and the ceramic heritage of the Ysieux valley.

It’s a pity that everything is in French but we are grateful that we got a guided tour by the professional staff, Cedric. Nous sommes allés visiter en famille l'exposition permanente un samedi où il n'y avait pas d'atelier. Il n'y avait pas grand monde donc nous avons pu voir les vitrines, les maquettes et les installations tranquillement. Un bel espace, clair, où les objets sont bien mis en valeur. J'ai apprécié l'architecture du bâtiment, surprenante par sa modernité, qui permet de relier le propos de l'exposition à l'extérieur. Les enfants (de la maternelle au lycée) ont tous fait une bonne visite, en prenant leur temps, car les explications sont adaptées à tous les âges, entre le carnet de jeux, la possibilité de toucher des choses, les vidéos qui ne sont pas sans un brin d'humour. Et pourtant nous sommes restés au moins deux bonnes heures (ce qui est habituellement long pour les plus petits). La visite donne presque envie de faire des fouilles dans le jardin!
