A guy from the region buys a castle that has been derelict since 1944 (the Nazis demolished the castle) and tries to rebuild it single-handedly. Given the mammoth task, I don't know whether he is very motivated or just crazy.
But what I do know is that it is great fun to walk through the walls and there is something to discover at every corner and the castle with its tunnel and cave is a paradise for explorers.

These are the ruins filmed in the movie 'Ever After' with Drew Barrymore and Dougray Scott. We visited many years ago when the retired Professor still lived in the house beside the ruins. He told us that the Germans in WW2 burned down this castle in retaliation to the French resistance killing the German solders.
