The steep 30-minute hike to the castle from the D759 Road is half the reward: You'll have a breathtaking view of the area towards the bay of Porto Vecchio, and there's patches of shades where you can rest on your way through the legendary 'Maquis'. The 'Castle' itself is interesting, as it was built around 2500 BC! Obviously, don't expect Versailles, it's a few walls that give you a good idea of how the 'castle' may have looked at one point.
Parking is difficult -- the official way is to park way south of the town of Araggio, where a large parking area has been set up. Take some water on warm days as you’ll be glad of a drink when you get to the top. The entrance path isn’t very well signposted and is down the left hand side of the cafe.
