The wait time in this eculse is highly variable. We came at the end of low season, in May. It can change dramatically in high season.
Gardouch is a pretty, peaceful and friendly small town with approximately 1400 locals. When you pass through the Ecluse, the dock at the port is free, amazing. Next to the dock is a co-op cafe, Epicerie Cafe, where you can enjoy a fresh baguette for just over 1 euro, a coffee latte for just over 3 euros and a shared small work space. Assorted local produce is sold at the cafe, it's just beautiful. You can have coffee ground as well and they have a proper coffee machine, yew!
There is also a lovely restaurant that you can grab a few drinks or meals at on the opposite side. There is a beautiful home on the corner of the ecluse which sells quality ropes and will even splice your lines for a small fee and they can also repair fenders.
It's worth a walk into town and up the hill to see the local church. There is a taxi service owned by a family that operate two taxis to take you to HyperU . Drs are available in the town of Gardouch.
Rubbish disposal: if you take a walk into the small town of Gardouch, on your way into town you will find garbage and recycling units on the way into town and also around the streets of the town.

If you arrive on a day the cafe in Port is closed (Epicerie Cafe), you can purchase your baguette from a portable bread vending machine in town for 1 euro, nice...
