Overall, we had a great experience, especially with the convenient driving access to the park. Be aware that the opening hours vary and may start later than expected, so it’s best to check in advance. We arrived late on a weekday, so there were few visitors, and the driving tour was nearly empty, allowing us to observe animals up close in their natural, relaxed state.
However, check-in was a bit challenging due to the confusing location—Google Maps didn’t lead us to the correct spot, and some restricted roads along the way added to the confusion. Thankfully, the park staff helped us out, though most of them spoke only French or very limited English. The park accommodations are well worth it, but they’re best for summer stays, as it gets dark early in autumn and winter, making it hard to see any animals. Rooms 1, 2, 5, and 20 are near most of the animals and are recommended.
As for dining, the dinner provided was possibly French cuisine, though even after reheating, it didn’t taste great. Still, tea, coffee, and milk were provided. Breakfast the next day was quite nice. The room was spacious with good hot water, though some maintenance was needed—several lights were out, and the Wi-Fi didn’t connect, which staff attributed to a recent storm. The room amenities included a hair dryer, coffee machine, and microwave. In the morning, we joined a wolf and bear feeding activity, though the explanations were all in French. The park is large, and even a quick walk-through took 2-3 hours, so plan more time if you want to stop and observe...
Read moreWow Safari Peaugres is a fantastic destination, especially for families. We had a wonderful time exploring the park — it’s well-designed, spacious, and offers a unique opportunity to observe animals up close in a semi-wild environment. One of the highlights was being able to drive through the safari section in our own car. Watching animals like zebras, giraffes, and ostriches roaming freely just a few feet away was an unforgettable experience.
The park is very well-managed, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They ensured everything was safe and easy to navigate. Even without a car, the rest of the park offers plenty to see on foot, including impressive enclosures for lions, bears, and other wild animals. The walking trails are clearly marked, and there are informative signs about the animals, which make it both fun and educational for kids and adults alike.
What we appreciated most was the thoughtful layout and the effort taken to provide a natural habitat for the animals. Clean facilities, well-placed rest areas, and food options made the whole visit comfortable.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I would highly recommend Wow Safari Peaugres to anyone looking for a fun and enriching day out — with or...
Read moreVery well kept animals. We watched the Bongos for quite a while and found out afterwards there are only 300 or so left in the world. Very well set out and would be a great visit for smaller children (I had my 11yo with me. He loved it, but a lot of the activities are aimed at younger children). Petting farm at the centre. Walking safari and driving safari. Spent just short of €100 for 3 adults and 1 child, but well worth it.
We originally went for the labyrinth des dragons (mirror maze built by a famous maze designer); it was built in 1994 and unfortunately much has been dismantled, there are no longer aquariums involved in the maze and the final section of mirrors is all that remains, however, the change to a nocturnal creature exhibition to replace the majority of the maze is well worth the visit (hold your nose...
