We were looking forward to buying prunes and hiring a boat from Ferme du Lacay during our recent stay in Penne-d'Agenais. We checked the opening hours on Google - they were updated 6 weeks ago by the business and indicate that the lunch hour is from 12:30 to 1:30, not 2, as mentioned by the owner in a response to a recent review - and attempted to visit on the morning of Sunday 3rd September. Unfortunately, we found a chain blocking the entrance to the farm. Later that day, I emailed the farm to ask if we could reserve a boat for Tuesday 5th. As of today, Sunday 10th, I haven't had a reply. On the 5th, we drove back to the farm, arriving at 11:40. It was open but the shop was locked so we rang the bell twice, as directed by the sign. We heard the bell sound in the nearby production area, and we could also hear people working there, but no one came out to assist us. Extremely disappointed, we gave up and left.
Update: Google wouldn't let me include a screenshot of the farm's opening hours last night (every day, 10 to 12:30, 1:30 to 6) but I note that the business has amended them since reading my review. No matter, since we visited before 12pm each time. The owner accuses me of posting multiple reviews, which is arrant nonsense. I have no connection whatsoever to any other clients or reviews of the farm. Every other business I've reviewed on Google received five stars but this one genuinely needs to do better and to be able to respond to criticism appropriately.
Further update: thank you for removing some of the bizarre claims you made about me in your original response and for retrospectively amending your Google opening hours to reflect the fact that you're closed on Sundays. This doesn't explain why we received no response when we visited on Tuesday 5th at 11:40 and rang the bell twice,...

While I agree that normally the prunes are very tasty, if there is a quality issue with your order that means the prunes are inedible, Ferme du Lacay are not interested in resolving your problem.
This issue relates to an online order for 10x 1Kg Pruneaux d'Agen which I placed on 24th May 2024. I put the unopened bags of prunes in a storage box while I finished the last bag of my previous order. In October 2024 I came across one packet that contained prunes that had gone mouldy. It was unopened and still well within its Best Before date of 30th June 2026.
I emailed Ferme du Lacay on their sav@fermedulacay.fr address on 30th October showing pictures of the mouldy bag and the Best Before date asking for a partial refund of my order but received no reply. I emailed again using the Contact Us page to their lafermedulacay@orange.fr email address on 6th November but received no reply.
In an attempt to resolve the issue privately I sent a personal message through Facebook Messenger on 10th November but received no reply. I repeated my message privately on 14th November but received no reply.
So, after four attempts to contact La Ferme du Lacay and let them know I had a problem with an order, they have demonstrated their indifference to helping customers with orders once they have your money.
Be aware that if you do discover one or more packets where the pasteurization has failed, you are unlikely to receive any form of refund. I advise that you check your packets of prunes on arrival to see if you can spot any visible mould but in my case it developed slowly and would have passed out of any Buyer Protection offered by my...

Basically very rude people who make up lies don’t...
