We visited Royal Khvanchkara as two families with children for a wine tasting experience. The tasting itself was interesting, though a bit overpriced for the amount of wine offered.

Unfortunately, our experience ended on a deeply unpleasant and disturbing note. When we were about to leave, one of the employees suddenly picked up my 4-year-old son, hugged him, and kissed him without any permission. My son immediately started crying, frightened that a stranger was holding him. When I took him back and confronted the employee, she did not apologize or even acknowledge the issue.

Matters escalated further when another staff member, a Russian-speaking guide named Vakhtang, became aggressive toward us. Instead of addressing the concern, he shouted at me, dismissing the incident as if my child were simply being “petted” like an animal. He not only excused this unacceptable behavior but also treated us as though we were the problem. While I was holding my son, he even touched me in an intimidating manner.

This was an extremely upsetting experience for us and left us feeling unsafe. We are still considering filing a formal complaint regarding this behavior.

Until this place seriously rethinks how it treats its guests — especially families with children — I cannot...

We visited the winery as two families, nine people in total (with only four adults actually taking part in the tasting). Our guide Tamar was wonderful — very professional, patient, and happy to answer all our questions.

The tasting itself was fine, but for the price we expected a bit more variety — we received only three wines to sample.

Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by highly inappropriate behavior. Towards the end of the visit, one of the staff members suddenly picked up our friends’ young child and kissed him without any warning or permission. The child was extremely frightened. When the parents addressed the situation, no apology was offered. Instead, another staff member became aggressive, shouted at us to leave, dismissed our concerns as “exaggeration,” and even attempted to push the child’s father.

This behavior was shocking and unacceptable. Despite the professionalism of our guide, I would strongly advise families with children to...

I usually don’t write those kind of comments but in that case it is inevitable. We visited Royal Khvanchkara as two families with children. The tour was nice and interesting. As we were leaving, a female employee suddenly picked up my 4 year old son, hugged him, and kissed him on his cheek as if he was a poppet, without permission, which terrified him and made him start screaming. Instead of addressing the issue, the Russian-speaking guide became aggressive and shouted at us, making the situation even worse. On the positive side, our English-speaking guide was excellent, professional, attentive, and very apologetic about what happened. She truly did her best to support us, but overall the experience was upsetting and left us...

We stumbled upon this winery and had a great, informative and tasty experience learning about the company’s wines. We tasted three and really enjoyed it, with cheese, olives and traditional churchkhela along with the wines. We got to see a traditional house, old oak barrels and the stainless steel fermentation barrels. The tour guide was very friendly, knowledgable and spoke good English. Would highly recommend! We paid 40 GEL each
