Bateti Lake — Attraction in Inner Kartli

I visited Bateti Lake last October with friends, and it was an unforgettable experience. This place is an absolute gem, offering breathtaking natural beauty and a peaceful atmosphere that feels like a retreat from the everyday hustle and bustle.

One of the highlights of the trip was the journey to the lake. While it is possible to drive closer, I highly recommend walking—it’s a part of the experience you won’t want to miss. The road to the lake is astonishing, with beautiful views and a serene environment that lets you fully immerse yourself in nature. It’s an easy and enjoyable walk, perfect for taking in the sights and sounds of the surrounding forest.

DO NOT GO , if it’s rainy and if you don’t want to walk in many muddy puddles. Or you should have a 4*4 off-road car. It’s about 2.4 kilometers off-road which in rainy season it will be so difficult to hike even if that day is not rainy it will be so slippery. I posted some pictures from the road to see how it was in fall. In the middle of the road it’s a wide fantastic view of hill and mountains which is different in color left and right side. I advise to stay and enjoy this place because you will not loos anything special to spending time in the road. It’s a perfect view and quiet place that you can imagine. In the end of the road is located the lake. Mountain full of trees in round are ended to the water and make a magic picture like a mirror and create a fantastic picture which i had seen only in the pictures before. Do not forget: off-road car, good boots And again and again and again enjoy the road when you are climbing up to the lake. It’s very nice. And unfortunately in the road and beside the lake there is so many trashes like beer bottles and so many other. Please take with yourself something which you can take your garbage with yourself....

Very popular lake, especially among Georgian people. It became so popular, therefore so polluted. 🐷

People go there in every season but the most visited time is autumn. The lake is located in the valley of Dzama river. 1313 meters above sea level and it is habitat of near-threatened species of newt (Caucasian triton) Road was bumpy, but as I know it is much more good condition right now. Anyways, it would be better if you go there by 4x4 car. Last part was muddy. Some people really like the place but presonally I was not impressed.
