Herrsching am Ammersee is one of my favorite escapes from the city. The beach area is clean, scenic, and perfect for relaxing by the water, even on cloudy days. You can dip your feet in the lake, enjoy a picnic on the grass, or simply sit and take in the stunning views. The sight of yachts and sailboats gently floating on the lake adds a special charm, especially in the evening light. There’s a beautiful lakeside promenade and a well-kept park with plenty of space to walk, read, or just unwind under the trees. Whether you're looking for quiet time alone or a relaxing day trip with family or friends, Herrsching offers the perfect mix of nature, water, and serenity. Don’t miss the ferry pier. It gives you a postcard view of the entire lake!

An absolutely serene experience especially during the dusk. The sunset view was exceptional and would be able to capture some excellent pictures. There is a good walkway through which you can stroll through the whole stretch of the lake. It is kid friendly and also very calm and peaceful. For those who would like to spend a beautiful evening walk with their friends or family, this would be a highly recommended place.

Perfect day trip inside Munich. You can take S8 from Central Station to Herrsching. From the station it's a 10 minute walk till you reaches the Ammersee. Don't miss the wonderful view of the alps from the lake. You can also hike from Ammersee point. We went to a walk alongside the lake, an hour walk through jungle and reached the Breitbrunn point where you can see the top view of the lake.

It may be a good place for cycling. It is not a nice place to swim. The water is not that clean near to the beach. Very disappointing is the number of mosquitoes in the summer when the weather is sunny. We could not walk in peace or sit in the balcony. Our bodies turned to red spots after half a day. Next day we cut the trip and left to some other lake. I don’t recommend to...
