Good FREE museum. The SS-part was a bit small though, it happened soo much here during ww2, but the museum reveals just a fragment of it. Why??!!

Very interesting, the museum is based more on reading and looking at short videos about the ww2-era. But after the visit, it feels like the museum doesnt reveal all that have happened on this historic site. A more ”neutral” view, would have been appriciated. And more access too the castle grounds would have made the visit even more interesting. Making a ”pillowrom” of the ss-leaders hall, was a joke.. why?? Why not show it as it once looked? That would make it more historicalCorrect. Shouldnt visitors be alowed too see the creepy truth?

The majority of all the reading in the museum is in german, ?english translation would make the visit easier for foreign visitors.

ParkingLot is Good, and there is room for large motorhomes and buses also. I could even spend the night in the moho there. Good safe parking for late arrivers, and then visit the museum early after a good nights sleep.

Not a lot in the souvenir-shop, i like too sponsor the museums i visit; but wewelsburg made it hard too find anything useful. T-shirts or a cap maybe?

I would recomend driving a couple of kilometers from the castle too get some good...

Oh my goodness it took me two trains & two buses to see this amazing castle nestled in this quaint location. The scenery along the way was amazing to say the least.

It is worth to take the transportation to see all the beauty you miss if you were driving. This castle was worth the trip!! So much jammed packed and you need a good portion of your day to take in all the history they wish to share with the world. Not only is the castle breathtaking but there is so much history on Hilter. We only read or learnt in school. Things were right before my eyes to share with family/friends when I arrived back home.

The castle is breathtaking and the courtyard is gorgeous on the hot sunny day I went to visit. Nice touch umbrellas waited in case the weather changed to walk in the courtyard.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Please if you get a chance go to Wewelsburg you will not be disappointed.

Sorry for the late post I was here late April 2018. This place I will not forget and have so many fotos to share. Thank you again for...

The museum is very open for everyone, for (young) childeren and adults. The collection is big, astonishing and in very good shape. One can learn a lot about the castle's and local/regional history. Nice settings and displays and a huge amount of information. Reserve enough time of you want to see everything, roughly between 3 to 6 hours depending your interests.

In a separate part of the castle a exposition about the Schutzstaffel, or SS, has been set up. One can read and see a lot about the bizarre and unbelievable backgrounds of Heinrich Himmler's elite Nazi soliders during WW2 and therefore this exhibition is less suitable for young childeren. Note that there are strict rules on your behaviour during your visit. For an indepth view 2 or 3 hours are needed.

This museum and exposition about the infamous SS combined together for a price of €3,- is exceptionally low and...

Interesting and sombre place which the SS built up into a major centre during the war. The attached free museum is quite comprehensive but mostly in German only which somewhat limits its usefulness for English speakers. Apparently this place has become a point of interest for right wing groups today as well as occult groups due to the conspiracy around the work performed there by the SS.
