Geroldsauer Wasserfall — Attraction in Baden-Baden

•Great place to spend time in lush green nature. •The drive to the place tests your driving skills but in the end everything is worth it. •Parking was easy because not many tourists were seen during our visit. Otherwise the parking lot is a bit small and there is a separate parking place for people who book a stay at the hotel close to the waterfall. You can spot many small parking areas as you pass by and reach the waterfall parking. You can choose any of them based on your decision on how long you want to hike. •The waterfall is spectacular and there are clear signages everywhere and you can choose between a couple of hiking routes. •The hiking paths are pretty good and recommend a proper trekking shoes as the track is filled with stones.

Geroldsau Waterfall is a hidden gem in the Black Forest, just a few kilometers south of Baden-Baden. A short walk along the Grobbach stream leads to the approximately six-meter-high waterfall, which plunges into a picturesque rocky basin. Especially in spring, when the rhododendrons are in bloom, the scenery is breathtaking.

The hike is easy and suitable for families, though the path is not wheelchair accessible. There are several parking areas nearby, and the Geroldsauer Mühle offers a great spot to enjoy regional cuisine.

The drive up is pretty narrow and cars are parked all along one side making it even narrower. We ended up taking the road all the way to the top and found parking there. Very quick walk to the falls, less than 2km. My 3 yr old fell within 5 minutes so we didn't get to explore but there were many hiking paths. You can access the waterfall but it is not very large. The pictures make it look more impressive than it is. It was extremely crowded. People were swimming in the water. The water was nice and cold. I wouldn't go again with small children.
