The place is open only on weekends and, despite many visitors, it was spacious enough to avoid feeling crowded. I really enjoyed it, however, it is located far from the city center and takes almost 1.5 hours to reach. Unless you are particularly interested in medieval life, the long journey might not be worth it. The museum is nice but could benefit from adding more items and explanations. The village is very interesting; I really enjoyed walking around, entering the houses, watching the craftsmen work, and speaking with those who knew English. Unfortunately, many didn't speak English. Their costumes looked authentic, and the houses were dark, just as they were in medieval times. It was fascinating to see the medieval breed of sheep and barley, which look somewhat different from...

While the Düppel open air museum offers a charming experience, it's true that it may be considered small compared to other parks. Due to its size, visitors might find that they can explore the entire museum in less than an hour. If you're looking for a more extensive collection or a longer visit, you may want to consider other larger museums or historical sites in the area. However, if you appreciate the quaint atmosphere and the opportunity to immerse yourself in a specific historical period, the Düppel open air museum can still be an enjoyable and informative...

A well-run educational museum village that brings medieval Germanic life to life. The team is passionate and makes the experience truly immersive. Great fun for both kids and adults. Some days have special themes like weaving or pottery, with hands-on stations for children. There’s a simple bistro on site and a traditional twisted bread stand. Plenty of space and not overcrowded on weekends, unlike many family attractions.
