Free entry. Parking was only a couple of Euros. Free if your in a coach for school visits. Park did seem a little tired and outdated. But what do you expect for a free wildlife park. All animals looked well looked after. Picnic area with benches. And a shelter if raining. But did become chlostrophobic when it started raining, and a whole school party shelter there for lunch. Shame there wasn't more areas for wet conditions. But overall thought this was a great tier park. Lots of interesting animals. Unfortunately we didn't get there till just after lunch and missed a lot of feeding times, and some animals were hiding from the rain. Although light gravel car park I think the rest of the park is average inclines and spacious paths for wheel chairs. An overall good experience and no reason I could see to score less...
Read moreInteresting free zoo, open 24/7. We visited during the afternoon, when facilities were open. European animals, many birds, several different grazing animals and some carnivores. Cats were not visible, but the afternoon is not the best time for them. The brown bears were, as was the wolverine, after a bit of searching. Most of the grazing animals could be fed with special feed bought at the zoo, and they are thus used to people and often come to check whether you bring food. For people with less mobility, it is not always easy. Near the facility buildings there are cobble stones and some of the paths are steep. The special toilet I saw is inside the restaurant, and thus only available during the opening hours of the restaurant. All information is in German as is the...
Read moreWhat an incredible place. Honestly one of the best zoo experiences I have ever had, and all for free! The animals are so lively yet relaxed, compared to other zoos where they just want to sleep and stay away from the guests at all costs. As a visitor from Australia, I saw many animals that I had never seen before, right up close and personal. The setting is amazing, great walking paths and places to sit, even without the animals it is an enjoyable place to be. Highlight was the bear, of course. Walks over to us and sits down 3 meters away, facing us as close as he can be, practically saying hello. I still cannot believe how close he was!
What a special place, 10/10, absolutely recommend to anyone passing through the area. I will remember my visit for a long...
