Kloster Malgarten — Attraction in Bramsche

It is not a full fledged hotel but a bed and breakfast thing. But with a full restaurant attached. In a (former) cloister, but the atmosphere remained still. It is spacious, many rooms to linger, with long and complicated corridors, creaking old staircases (attention, worn out steps) floors and woodbeams seem to be from the time it was build 1650s. Lots tranquility and greenery surrounds you. We had room nr.12 which was huge and beautiful. Only the birds waking you up at sunrise are a "nuissance". Period furniture, a large chapel, all in your privacy. On a friday in summer we were the only overnighting guests. They seem to be too shy (or not their style) to agressively market their gem.||The restaurant offers genuine countrside style atmosphere either indoors or under centennial trees. ||||||||Price/value is unbeatable. 2person overnight w/ breakfast for under 80 eur, Cloister beer 4eur for half a litre, herring filets w potato salad 9 eur. Most of it home/local made. Recommended: fresh made "flammkuche" (very thin crusty wheat doe, with toppings like bacon, onions,and sour cream; or with salmon; or just herbs. All very light. No, not comparable to a fat and heavy pizza; it is an alsatian/palatinat dish). Oh yes, friendly...

Es ist kein vollwertiges Hotel, sondern eine Bed & Breakfast-Sache. Aber mit einem vollen Restaurant angeschlossen. In einem (ehemaligen) Kloster, aber die Atmosphäre blieb ruhig. Es ist weitläufig, viele Räume zum Verweilen, mit langen und komplizierten Gängen, knarrenden alten Treppen (Achtung, ausgetretene Stufen) Böden und Holzbalken scheinen aus der Zeit, als es um 1650 erbaut wurde. Viel Ruhe und viel Grün umgibt Sie. Wir hatten Zimmer Nr. 12, das riesig und wunderschön war. Nur die Vögel, die Sie bei Sonnenaufgang aufwecken, sind ein "Ärgernis". Stilmöbel, eine große Kapelle, alles in Ihrer Privatsphäre. An einem Freitag im Sommer waren wir die einzigen Übernachtungsgäste. Sie scheinen zu schüchtern (oder nicht ihr Stil) zu sein, um ihr Juwel aggressiv zu vermarkten. Das Restaurant bietet drinnen oder unter jahrhundertealten Bäumen eine authentische ländliche Atmosphäre.

Preis/Leistung ist unschlagbar. 2 Personen Übernachtung mit Frühstück für unter 80 Euro, Klosterbier 4 Euro für einen halben Liter, Heringsfilets mit Kartoffelsalat 9 Euro. Das meiste davon hausgemacht / lokal hergestellt. Empfohlen: frisch zubereitete "Flammkuche" (sehr dünne, knusprige Weizenkuche, mit Belägen wie Speck, Zwiebeln und saurer Sahne; oder mit Lachs; oder nur mit Kräutern. Alles sehr leicht. Nein, nicht vergleichbar mit einer fetten und schweren Pizza; es ist ein elsässisches/pfälzer Gericht). Ach ja, freundlicher...
