🇬🇧 Chorin Monastery is a truly enchanting place that touches the soul and inspires the mind. As I entered the ancient walls, I felt transported to another time - a time of silence, contemplation and peace.

The Gothic architecture of the monastery is breathtaking. The high vaulted ceilings, the ornate windows and the simple elegance of the stone carvings are a true masterpiece. It is hard to imagine how much love and dedication has gone into this structure.

But Chorin Monastery is more than just an architectural jewel. It is a place of tranquillity and retreat. The extensive gardens invite you to take a stroll, while the clear lakes and ponds provide a peaceful backdrop. I lost myself there and found myself at the same time - an experience I will never forget.

Scam avoid at all costs: went there on the Easter weekend. So you can’t pay the entrance with a credit card (they told us they are a Christian Organisation and don’t tolerate credit - they are probably stuck in the Middle Ages and believe in a global Jewish conspiracy where the whole world is controlled by credit cards issued by mean Jews;) okay we paid cash and now surprise surprise there is not much to see (entrance is 6 EUR per person). Literally we were done after 10 minutes, there was a market with overpriced food and questionable quality. All in all we left after 20 minutes. The area is beautiful but you can stay outside or take a walk around the lake or go to Barnim. The Chorin Abbey is a hidden romantic place just 1h far from Berlin. It's very well-known by the locals and the cultural Bohemians of Berlin, but not so interesting for tourist from abroad ... because it's a little bit far, but it's worth for visit and have a long walk around in the nearby forests. The Abbey building are typical German Middle Ages and all is a little bit big, just now as ruins! Sometimes they have classic concerts and festivals ... but this is more for the cultural jet set and bohemian way of life.
