Hotel 'Zum Wegelnburg' run by Family Kraft is a venue we love to visit over few decades in the Pfalz, Germany. I've been here but today it was completely closed due to construction or renovations. Iast year they were working on it and they still working on it. They take their sweet time lol. Thankfully there are other ruins to see nearby such as chateau...

Die Wegelnburg bei Schönau ist die höchstgelegene Burgruine der Pfalz und bietet einen atemberaubenden Panoramablick über den Pfälzerwald bis ins Elsass. Besonders bei klarem Wetter reicht die Sicht bis zu den Vogesen.

Positiv: Ausblick: Spektakulär, 360° Rundumblick, ideal für Sonnenauf- und -untergang.

Wanderung: Gut ausgeschilderte Wege, z. B. ab Schönau oder Nothweiler.

Ruine: Teilweise restauriert, viele Ebenen begehbar, geschichtsträchtiger Ort.

Hinweise: Gutes Schuhwerk notwendig (teils steile, unbefestigte Wege).

Nicht barrierefrei.

Keine Gastronomie oben, Selbstverpflegung ratsam.

Fazit: Ein Must-See für Wander- und Naturfreunde mit Interesse an Geschichte. Ideal für einen Tagesausflug oder als Etappenziel auf dem...

Wow, was für eine wunderschöne Aussicht. Die Burg ist 2021 restauriert worden und somit auch für die kleineren Kids geeignet! Ich empfehle die 4 Burgen Wanderung mit Einkehr im Gimbelhof. Ein wunderschöner Tag mit vielen eindrücken. Perfekt 🙌🥰

Nice view and ruin. The area around the Wegelnburg is great with many more ruins and places to discover. The way there is a bit "boring" and public transportation to Notwheiler is painfully unreliable.

Wow, was für eine wunderschöne Aussicht. Die Burg ist 2021 restauriert worden und somit auch für die kleineren Kids geeignet! Ich empfehle die 4 Burgen Wanderung mit Einkehr im Gimbelhof. Ein wunderschöner Tag mit vielen eindrücken. Perfekt 🙌🥰
