This former town has a very authentic vibe! Might be worth visiting all year round. There are many small shops and boutiques, cafés and restaurants, and surely quite a few tourists (though I would not call it crowded). A free WC is located near the parking lot, open only till 6 p.m. approximately. There are also a museum and a little beach on the Rhine (however, swimming in the river is prohibited). It might be fun taking a ferry ride to the other bank and back. Please keep in mind that it takes minimum 30 minutes to walk around the fortress part. No guide is needed, as it would be impossible to...

A small town near Düsseldorf and it's a must visit for the history lovers as this town can have some buildings built back in 1300s. Amazing architecture and you will fall in love with the beautiful lush green fields right next to river. There is a walled city as well and you can see the whole map for it and then visit the whole area. There is an old Church called St. Martinus which is a must visit for the history fans. Awesome day trip and...
