Märzenbecherwald bei Ettenstadt — Attraction in Ellingen (VGem)

Best visited around 2-3 weeks after spring takes off, usually mid march. (Duh!)

Wandering within an elsewhere rarely found myriad of the eponymous spring snowflakes (Märzenbecher, Leucojum vernum) just relaxes the mind and lets you develop a healthy Franconian thirst for beer. Also, hobby photographers as well as award-winning professionals enjoy the atmospheric illumination of the wood during a sunny day.

Nevertheless a winter trip there may also prove to be a fun experience for all age groups, young and old, e.g. through snowball fights...

A sea of snowdrops! Quite magical on a sunny day, early in the morning. The stone gully, Steinerne Rinne, is also close by and it's worth checking out. You can easily find a hiking trail that embodies...

Unglaublich viele Märzenbecher-Blumen welche durch einen Rundgangs-Pfad besichtigt werden können. Besser man parkt schon unten bei den Häusern und läuft dann den Hügel hoch. Oben findet sich kaum ein Platz bei Hochsaison.

Aber definitiv etwas, was man Mal gesehen haben muß. Ein paar Kilometer weiter, ist die nächste Laune der Natur: Die steinerne Rinne. Ein kleines Bächlein auf einem sich selbst gebildeten Hügel....
