Emsflower (Schmetterlingshaus) — Attraction in Emsbüren

I give it 3 stars and please read why! (I hope I will be able to rate it better on my next visit)

It was rainy Sunday, so we decided to visit Emsflower. We arrived and the parking was FULL, which is expected (holidays and bad weather). I bought tickets online, which every normal person would expect is for avoiding standing in the line. O man, how wrong we were.

The line was all the way OUT on the rain, and also, those with online tickets need to stand in line just like everyone else. At that point we would leave if we wouldn't have bought ticket already but we were still there moving snail speed to cashier who didn't really look able/capable on processing or the amount of people or system itself. 5 families passed us on 2nd cashier buying tickets there before the lady managed to process our qr codes.

When you finally enter, you are at...in restaurant now, I'm not sure if this is "you need to eat," but you are literally walking past the people tables.

Also, if you don't want to be overrun by kids without limits by their parents, choose work/school day because they are everywhere running/pushing. Not only at playgrounds.

Weekends full of kids if that's too much for you avoid weekends visit.

Overall, it is great and beautifully done. It is really worth seeing, and we will be back in a week someday to see all those beautiful botanical paths again.

Although the entrance fee seems a little high, it's well worth it. The butterfly garden is a magical place, but there's much more to discover, like little monkeys, parrots that you can feed yourself (remember to buy some parrot drink at the reception), beautiful plant displays, etc... there is an indoor playground for the smaller kids with an adjacent terrace where parents can have a drink. Wirklich schöner und informativer Ort, nett gestaltet und gerade gegen Abend wirklich schön, die ganzen Lichter machen es möglich. Teils wirken die Tierchen durch den Lärmpegel, der von den Kindern ausgeht aber mitunter ziemlich gestresst. Zudem könnte platztechnisch an der ein oder anderen Stelle nachgebessert werden. So haben die Aras, welche ja nun wirklich keine kleinen Vögel sind.. mit am wenigsten Platz, da können kaum die Flügel mal ausgebreitet werden, geschweige denn geflogen werden. So manches Badezimmer, ist da nochmal um nh Ecke größer, als deren Gehege. Das ist etwas schade. Für die Kinder ein toller Ort, viel zu spielen, essen, Loris füttern ist möglich und wie oben bereits genannt, informativ noch dazu. Manch ein Erwachsener, der etwas weitsichtiger an die Sache herantritt, mag es ab und an aber etwas komisch werden, da die Platzverhältnisse schwierig sind. Also zusammengefasst müsste ich eigentlich zwei separate Bewertungen abgeben: aus Sicht eines Kindes, toller Ort, lohnt sich mit der Familie sehr.
