While staying at the Holiday Inn the niu, there wasn’t much else to do in the area, so I drove out here. Solar Mountain is basically an artificial hill built for installing solar panels. On a clear day, you can see very far from the top. On the way up, I even saw someone proposing on the path.

I’m not a big fan of mega-solar projects, but in this case, since the hill would just be a grassy mound otherwise, I think installing panels here makes sense. Nearby, there’s a canal-like river, and what’s unusual is that it actually flows over a bridge across the valley, while the road passes underneath that same bridge. It’s a very strange sight. However, under the bridge there’s a huge amount of bird droppings, making it really unsanitary. If you walk through, watch out—those birds definitely seem to aim their “bombs.”

I also came here on a clear night. The stars were beautiful, and I could see fog slowly filling the valley below, which looked quite magical. I even managed to take some star photos. At the top, a few young people were playing games at the picnic table, but after they left, they left trash scattered everywhere. I was honestly disappointed—how hard is it to just use a trash bin? At night, if you come alone, the place might feel a bit unsafe.

Still, the view of the stars was fantastic. If I ever come back to this area with nothing else to do, I’d probably...

This is THE BEST location nearby to watch sunrise/sunset. The view is unbelievable calming, the people are nice and know how to keep the hill clean. So please when u come here, take your trash or put it in the provided trash cans. It's sad to know that some people tried to party here but made the city angry about it because they left trash and disturbed the peace of the neighborhood. Now its forbidden to do any...

amazing outlook, Nürnberg, Fürth, erlangen, Forchheim, and more.

I was there at night. during a hot summer day there is absolutely no shadow on the top. also no shed.

but: benches, diagrams what you see in which direction and if your lucky landing planes are directly over you and ships float by in the canal, which crosses a street with a bridge. ship on bridge. road...

Nice hill. 360° view, You can see far. In good weather (it was 37°C above 0, sunny and light wind) - this is sunbathing (strange, why did they install solar panels...Cap?). Glide path to Nuremberg airport - overhead. Water bridge - engineering. Parking.... somewhere around... no dedicated place.
