Furthmühle — Attraction in Fahrenzhausen

n the beautiful landscape of Bavaria about 30km from Munich one of the oldest still producing mills in Europe is located, the Furthmühle. It is a technical Museum in use with the original installations from 1824, the saw and the flour mill. During the year, except in winter time, Mr. Aumüller, the owner, give guided tours each sunday and for enrolled groups also during week. Be sure there will not be to many people like at the most famous attractions, the Furthmüle is an insider's tip. The visitors get moved back in time and gain an inside into hard life, skills, tools and technics 200 years ago. It is not a normal museum, where is nothing allowed to be touched. It is a place to feel history, to get impressed by the construction skills in former times, to learn a lot about the different kinds of grain and the production process of flour. As well the guide will show how logs have been transported and sawed in the mill. Further on there is a little shop to by the products, which are produced in the mill and as well a coffee shop, which is open on sundays. Mrs. Aumüller presents there her excellent skills in baking cakes and tortes. Slow down and take afterwards a walk along the beautiful creek (Glonn) and enjoy this...

Die Lage und der kleine Garten der Furthmühle ist sehr schön. Man kann hier recht idyllisch und fernab vom Trubel die Seele baumeln lassen. Wir kommen bereits seit Jahren immer wieder gerne auf eine Stück Kuchen vorbei, der wirklich lecker ist.

Was und jedoch dieses Jahr auffällt: die Kuchenstücke haben sich sehr deutlich verkleinert, der Preis hat angezogen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist inzwischen etwas dürftig. Auch konnte ich meinen zu zahlenden Betrag nicht nachvollziehen, man bekommt - sofern man es überhaupt verlangt - nur einen handgeschriebenen Notizzettel mit allerhand durchgestrichenen und neu hinzu geschriebenen Zahlen, die Summe passt auch nicht zu den Beträgen - sehr wirr das ganze.

Ich würde mir wieder etwas mehr Struktur hier wünschen und dass die Betreiber zu ihrer alten Stärke zurückfinden: ein uriges Kleinod, bei dem man das Gefühl hat, jeder Cent, jede hier verbrachte Sekunde...

Familienfreundlich?? Wir wollten zuerst eine Runde spazieren gehen und dann ins Café. Dort kommt man nur über die befahrene Straße hin da das Café nur über enge Treppen zugänglich ist, zumindest mit einem Geschwisterwagen. Erstmal angepöbelt worden, wo wir hin wollen, dann unter dem Kommentar: das ist Privatgelände sie müssen außen rum und mit Hund sowieso nicht, außen rum gegangen. Haben uns auf dem Weg dann doch dazu entschieden eventuell einen Kuchen von dort mitzunehmen, da wir ja mit Hund unerwünscht sind. Was allerdings nicht möglich war weil sie ja nicht wissen wie viel Leute heut noch kommen. Kaufen und dort verzehren geht aber kaufen und...
