Alter Flecken — Attraction in Freudenberg

ALTER FLECKEN, FREUDENBERG - Is a very interesting little town in the Siegerland Region of Northrhein Westphalen. We visited for three days. The houses are almost uniform in sizes and all painted in white and black in all old traditional German style of half timbered buildings. Its history are preserved and documented in one of these houses in a small Fachwerk Museum. I was not able to visit inside because they open only on Wednesdays Saturdays and Sundays in the afternoon at 14:00 - 17:00 pm. I just miss the time frame. Maybe next time. To have a beautiful panorama there is a Public Park on top of a hill so from there a nice view can be achieve. Go early in the morning because the sun sets on the opposite side so the best pictures can be taken in the morning until 12:00 noon. I admire the cleanliness of the area. The place has charisma and feeling of fairy-tale ambience. If you are close to this area why not try to drop by and experience...

Definitely a small town and not well visited. It's a mistake and can easily come for a weekend. There are some shops, could use more to keep people around, including also restaurants. However all the houses are perfectly kept in greay condition and very beautiful to look at. Easy to wander around. Definitely a must visit if anywhere...

Wir sind mit dem Womo angereist im Aug.25. Es stehen mehrere kostenlose Parkplätze mit bis zu 3 Übernachtungen zur Verfügung. Zum alten Stadtkern sind es vom Parkplatz 5 nur ein paar Meter. Wir sind den bergigen Weg bis zum Park über viele Treppen hinauf gestiegen. Schönes Panorama. Der Park ist sehr gepflegt mit ein paar kleinen Attraktionen. Ein Café ist vorhanden und auch ein WC Haus. Sehr nett. Danach sind wir die Gassen abgelaufen um die Häuser nah zu sehen. Bis auf ein paar Ausnahmen waren wir etwas enttäuscht. Die Pflege der Gebäude und das Umfeld entsprechen nicht unseren Vorstellungen von Wertschätzung des Schatzes. Liebloses Gerümpel zwischen den Gebäuden und Müllbehälter die nicht in Boxen stehen. Der Autoverkehr war ziemlich schnell unterwegs, so dass wir öfters zur Seite springen mussten. Die evangelische Kirche mit 3 Stockwerken war sehr interessant. Alles in allem...
