Nice place to walk. Wonderful view. Places to sit, clean toilet. The restaurant staff is pretty rude. My husband ordered a beer and for me a bitter lemon, when he asked for ice the waitress said they don’t have ice that they are a simple restaurant. Also if you would like a salad you can’t have it without the dressing because the salad is already done!! After a while we saw some people ordering drinks like Aperol.... and the drinks HAVE ICE ON IT. When my husband asks her she said the ice is for the drinks not for other beverages. Answering us in a really really rude way.

Im sorry but this place is a turistic place if you don’t like or don’t know how to be nice to people please don’t work on this kind of place.

Never coming to this restaurant again!!!! And I don’t recommend !!!!!

Castle Teck has so much to offer! You hike up through the forest, which is simply relaxing and beautiful especially during the summer when the weather is really nice! I’ve been there a few times now and enjoy it every time as if it was the first time. You can do your own BBQ or purchase drinks, hotdogs, cake etc. The View from up top is amazing! You see the beautiful landscape around and you can even see other Castles that you might wanna visit on other hills around! This place is really worth visiting and usually isn’t...

A very good place to visit for a hike. Can get there two ways. (1) Walk straight from the nearby towns such as Owen and Dettingen or (2) Drive halfway up until midway of Teck Berg for a shorter walk to the Castle.

The Castle/Restaurant has toilets of course. Then it has food shops, One is a fine Restaurant for Classic Swabian Dishes, the other is a snack bar for quick bites. The Place is really nice and it has a tower that allows visitors 360 view of the surroundings.

I’ve been there a few times now and enjoy it every time as if it was the first time. You can do your own BBQ or purchase drinks, hotdogs, cake etc. The View from up top is amazing! You see the beautiful landscape around and you can even see other Castles that you might wanna visit on other hills around! This place is really worth visiting and usually isn’t too touristic.

Burg Teck auf dem Teckberg oberhalb der Stadt Owen auf dessen Gemarkung sie steht bzw. thront. Die Burg liegt auf 773m Höhe am Albtrauf - die früheste Erwähnung ist ein Vertrag von 1152. Im Jahre 1381 wurde die Burg an die Habsburger verkauft und im Bauernkrieg 1525 vollständig verstört - unter dem Herzog von Württemberg sollte die Teck zu einer modernen Festung ausgebaut werden - das Vorhaben scheiterte jedoch und seit ca. 1738 existiert die Burg nur noch als Ruine. 1889 Auf den Fundamenten des Bergfriedes wurde 1889 ein Aussichtsturm erbaut - seit 1941 befindet sich die Teck im Besitz des Schwäbischen Albvereins, der die Burg zu einer Gaststätte mit Schlafräumen ausbaute. Ein Ort von dem man bei gutem Wetter einen wunderbaren Blick über den Albtrauf und das Umland hat - in jedem Fall nicht versäumen auf den Aussichtsturm zu gehen - die 50 Cent für den tollen Ausblick von dort kann man leicht verschmerzen - der Aufstieg lohnt sich - wo wie auch der Besuch der Burg Teck sich lohnt. Die Gaststätte hat Mittwoch bis Samstag geöffnet - der Kiosk wohl auch Montag und Dienstag. Mit dem Auto ist die Teck nicht zu erreichen - zahlreiche Parkplätze wie bspw. Parkplatz Hörnle können der Startpunkt der Wanderung sein. Wir hatten die Teck anfangs der Woche besucht - am Wochenende ist hier bestimmt sehr viel mehr los. Vom Parkplatz Hörnle sind es ca. 1,5 km auf die Teck.

Die Burg und die Umgebung sind wunderbar! Ohne Zweifel ein herrlicher Ausflug. Der Aufstieg vom Parkplatz Hörnle aus ist steil aber machbar, auch mit Buggy oder Cruizer. Gemütlich mit Kindern dauert der Aufstieg 35-40min. Der Kiosk funktioniert sehr gut, Toiletten sind völlig in Ordnung. Einzig Abstriche gibt es leider für die Wirtschaft. Das Essen ist zwar in Ordnung, jedoch lässt der Service zu wünschen übrig. Freundlich und sympathisch geht anders. Habe noch kurz nach dem Bezahlen feststellen müssen, dass neue Gäste an unseren Tisch geführt wurden obwohl wir noch Getränke hatten. Wir wurden quasi weggescheucht. Als die Bedienung dann russisch mit den neuen Gästen sprach war mir alles klar. Diese Familie wurde auch anderen Gästen vorgezogen, die sich dann beschwerten, damit aber abblitzten. Die gleiche Bedienung (korpulent) antwortete auf meine Frage, ob ich mit Karte zahlen könne, Zitat: „nur wenn es sein muss, ich weiß nicht ob das funktionier heute. Aber wenn es unbedingt sein muss, dann nur mit EC Karte und ab 25€“. Also bitte…wir haben das Jahr 2021!!! Schade dass ich für den unbeholfenen, unsympathischen Service einen Stern abziehen muss. Das Ausflugsziel selber ist wie gesagt wunderbar!
