The museum shows the long history of ceramic production in the Kannenbäckerland. There are only a few cases from the Stone Age to Early Medieval ceramics. The museum takes effort to also show the ovens, techniques and use of clay today in bathroom ceramics etc. There is of course a focus on stoneware, with a great selection of 15th to 17th century wares from the Rhineland and the Westerwald. There seems to be more focus on 18th and 19th century wares, including Reinhold Hanke's historismus. This museum is also great for people interested in modern...

Quite the history about a basic resource. Don't underestimate the need fir pots and vessels. One needs to store and transport food. It is valuable and in today's(plastic and tin-) world replaced, however the traditional and modern products are classy and truly special. - the young generation does a good job. The exhibition reminds on a once needed success story, carried its product until today. - other artists despite a printed map not really found in the "Brunnengasse". Probably during the high season...

Impressively large and airy location housing pretty big collection. History of local industry told but struggled a little due to our lack of German. Parking free outside but spaces are limited and we got lucky. Small on site restaurant/cafe but food limited but cake and coffee was nice.
