Ein Herr Banerjee erteilt willkürlich Hausverbote; ob aufgrund eines persönlichen Grolls oder weil es ihm Freude bereitet, lässt sich nicht sagen. Die betreffende(n) Person(en) war(en) nachweislich nicht einmal vor Ort...

Ganz allgemein lässt sich aber von der Sternwarte Hamburg als Forschungsstandort oder als "point of interest" für einen Besuch für Astronomieinteressierte abraten. Diese Reliktinstitution hat nichts mit dem Begriff "Exzellenz", mit dem sich vorwährend die Universität zu Hamburg identifiziert, gemein. Davon abgesehen wäre ein Besuch auch auf eigene Gefahr, da ihre Infrastruktur nicht nur zu wünschen übrig lässt, sondern man schon vom reinen Anblick der rostenden Blechtuben eine im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes schwerwiegende Schwermetallvergiftung bekommt.

Dazu als Intermezzo einen kleinen Witz: Wie nennt man einen Physiker, der das Noether-Theorem auf die Gravitation anwendet? Richtig, einen Schwere-Noether.

Für alle, die sich wirklich für Planeten und Sterne interessieren, wäre mit einem vernünftigen Dobson-Teleskop im eigenen Haushalt mehr geholfen, z.B. einem Orion Skyquest. Damit lassen sich, soweit Starlink dies zulässt, der Himmel und seine Sphären nämlich auch sehr gut betrachten und schätzen und man spart sich den Weg zu einem Ort, wo wissenschaftliche Maximen und gute wissenschaftliche Praxis keinerlei...

There are many telescopes and wach contains great history. If the weather is nice, one can also enjoy lovely sunset or deer 🦌...

Had a great experience, specially if you are interested to know about stars, galaxies and planets. This place is simply outstanding. I would suggest to book a visit, either in german or english. There are many telescopes and wach contains great history. If the weather is nice, one can also enjoy lovely sunset or deer 🦌 sightseeing( if lucky).

There are even guided tours to join. It's quite fantastic!!

Polecam niedzielne zwiedzanie o godz. 14.00 z przewodnikiem. W historię tego niezwykłego obserwatorium wprowadził nas bardzo miły doktor fizyki z rozległą wiedzą. Oficjalnie zainaugurowane w 1912 r. obserwatorium posiada przekrój teleskopów z różnych epok i o róznym przeznaczeniu. Możemy podziwiać budynek koła południkowego, które było wykorzystywane przed laty do precyzyjnego odmierzania czasu. Pomiar był przekazywany i synchronizowany z hamburskim portem. Znajdują sie tu także refraktor równikowy, teleskopy soczewkowe, zwierciadlane, 1 metrowy wielki refraktor i inne. Nie można zapomnieć o pieknej dwupoziomowej bibliotece w budynku głównym i przyjemnym parku na terenie obiektu. Koszt wycieczki 10 euro, 90 min. j. niemiecki. Bardzo warto!
