Herford Zoo — Attraction in Herford

The Tierpark has a variety of exotic animals from South American continent and a good selection from Europe as well. Lamas and Alpacas were a definite hit with our kids. The place has a nice playground for children and also a small restaurant. Overall, a good place to spend an afternoon with kids. However, for the price of €6.5 for grown ups and €3 for kids, the Tierpark leaves a lot to be desired. The zoo is relatively small and I found the animal enclosures to also be a bit too smaller than they should be. Everything is compactly packed with no room for the nature to grow or give one time to admire what one sees. All in all, it's a good place, but not worth the money. In this zoo there are a lot of animals but they arent animals like elephant crocodiles or any of the common zoo animals. They have animals like alpacas 4 horned goats and other cool animals. Theier habitats are very clean and good for anomals. This is a great zoo to bring your kids. They also have a big playground and you are allowed to touch almost every animal and you can also go inside the goats area. Wir hatten heute einen Kindergeburtstag dort gefeiert. Das haben wir zum ersten Mal gemacht und erlebt. Wir waren eine kleinere Gruppe von 7 Kids, im Alter von 8-12 Jahre. Wir sind total von den Socken. Es hat uns wirklich sehr gut gefallen. Unsere nette Tierpflegerin hat sich für uns und die Tiere Zeit genommen. Hat und alles erklärt und unsere Fragen beantwortet. Wir durften hinter die Kulissen gucken und die Tiere hautnah erleben. Das war großartig und total besonders. Diese Erfahrung zu machen hatte die Kids und auch mich als Erwachsene, total fasziniert. Das tolle ist auch, dass wir für uns einen eigenen überdachten Tisch hatten, den man selbst so dekorieren durfte, wie man Lust dazu hat. Luftballons, Tischdecke, Geschirr, Geburtstagskuchen, usw. kann man mitbringen und wie zu Hause dekorieren. Essen und Getränke darf man auch mit bringen. Aber man kann auch dort vor Ort echt super bestellen, was ebenfalls praktisch und lecker ist. Also ich hatte keinerlei Erwartungen. Wir haben gedacht, dass wir zwar mit in die Gehege dürfen, doch was wir erlebt und gesehen haben, hat unsere Phantasie wirklich übertroffen! Die Kinder werden noch sehr lange über dieses Erlebnis berichten.

Vielen lieben Dank an das tolle und freundliche Team. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und ab heute werden wir mit einem ganz neuen Gefühl durch den Tierpark Herford spazieren.
