Oberwald, Oberwaldsee and the complete surroundings are simply magnificent to enjoy! Amidst the woods it's a brilliant spot for walkers, hikers, to ride bicycles, pick-nick, enjoy nature and the animals of the Zoo (Zoogehege)!

Heute von der Sbahn Haltestelle Dammerstock kommend, durch den Oberwald, vorbei an den Trampeltieren im Oberwaldgehege, Durlacher Aue bis Wolfartsweier Süd. Dabei den mir bis lange unbekannten See entdeckt. Soo ein schöner Ort. Wenn man sich auf die Ruhe, die er ausstrahlt einlässt ..vergisst man, dass nur wenige Meter entfernt die Stadt brummt.

Der Oberwaldsee im Oberwald ist ein sehr schönes und trotz Stadtnähe erfreulich ruhiges Naturschutzgebiet. Über die neue Wasserwerkbrücke kommt man vom Tivoli sehr gut zu Fuß oder per Rad dort hin - aber sehr gut geht es auch aus Richtung Rüppürr oder aus Richtung Durlach-Aue bzw. Wolfartsweier.

Aber auch generell ist der Oberwald besonders für Familien attraktiv mit seinem Waldspielplatz "Affenwäldle" und dem Tierpark Oberwald.

Völlig unattraktiv für Besucher ist allerdings der zweite See im Oberwald. Das Naturschutzgebiet Erlachsee ist nämlich komplett eingezäunt und nicht wirklich einsehbar (außer von einer schon in die Jahre gekommenen und unattraktiv gelegenen...
