Kochelsee is a stunning alpine lake nestled in the heart of Bavaria, Germany. The natural beauty of the lake and its surrounding area is truly captivating. The crystal-clear waters of Kochelsee are surrounded by lush green forests, providing a picturesque backdrop that's perfect for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike. The tranquil atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for relaxation and outdoor activities.

However, one must be prepared for the influx of tourists during peak seasons. The serene atmosphere can be disrupted by the crowds, which might not be ideal for those seeking solitude. Additionally, the lake's water can be quite cold, so swimming may not be as pleasant as in warmer lakes.

The nearby town of Kochel am See offers various amenities, making it convenient for visitors. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy local Bavarian cuisine and refreshments.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the weather in the Bavarian Alps can be unpredictable, so it's advisable to check the weather forecast and pack accordingly.

Overall, Kochelsee is a must-visit destination for nature lovers, and it offers a wonderful opportunity to explore the beauty of the Bavarian Alps. Just be prepared for the potential crowds and changing weather conditions to fully enjoy your visit. For more details follow me on YouTube:...

Outstanding natural beauty and very scenic (about one hour drive from Munich). Glacial Kochel Lake of Bavaria is set in mountains & wetlands. Water is beautifully clear and the place is unspoilt, real mother nature. Lots of hiking trails and you can swim too. Franz Marc Museum is less than a mile away and be sure to visit the other nearby Lake, Lake Walchensee, (about 6 miles away). Breath taking and the fresh air and mountains make for some really good O2, so pause, take deep breaths, relax the mind and...

An amazing scenic lake just an hour drive from Munich. This lake is also quite accessible if you are coming by train. Nestled in between snow capped mountains with the calm clear waters this lake is definitely a trip highly worth it. The drive road is equally beautiful. If you are coming by car, you have multiple parking options but I highly recommend the area near the Franz Marc museum. It’s just amazing. Here the parking charges are 3 euros for 3 hours. Multiple short hikes are...
