Roman Temple of Tawern — Attraction in Konz

The Tawern temple precinct lies on a road from South Gaul that led from Metz to Trier, and on to the Rhine. The temple area on the top of the hill offered travelers a view on Augusta Treverorum (Trier), some 15 km away, and allowed them to make offerings to the gods after a journey. Für alle Geschichts Interessierten oder auch diejenigen, welche nur einen tollen Ausblick genießen wollen. Der Weg dorthin ist gut ausgeschildert und endet zunächst an einem Waldparkplatz. Von dort aus auf Schusters Rappen, entweder ca. 9 Min. durch den Wald oder ca. 15 Min. über einen asphaltierten Weg nach oben zum Tempel. Liebevoll, zum Teil nachgestellte bzw. nachgebaute Anlage, Info Schilder informieren sehr gut über das was man erspäht. Wie wir erfahren haben, sind nahezu jeden Sonntag Mitglieder eines Tawerner Vereins vor Ort, die Interessierten die Anlage näher bringen. Über einen kleinen Obolus für die Vereinskasse freut man sich sehr.
