Kloster Lorch — Attraction in Lorch

I recently visited Kloster Lorch Castle and I’m thrilled to give it a 5-star rating! This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful castles in the Baden-Württemberg region. The view from the castle is absolutely stunning, offering a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding area.

We bought two full price tickets for our visit. We checked out the garden first, because we think we still have plenty of time. However, before we can enter the main attraction, the same lady, who sold us the tickets, closed the door suddenly. The reason is, there is an event at night, so she needs to close the main building earlier. What the heck?! You could have told us earlier before we purchased the tickets. What a shameful and irresponsible personnel. German government pays tones of money to maintain this monestry, perhaps some money should be used to improve their...

2019 - Mittelalteramarkt Auch wenn dies ein kleiner Mittelaltermakt ist, versprüht er doch einen besonderen Charme in dieser gut erhaltenen und gepflegten Anlage. Es hat hier auch immer etwas Bedächtiges, Dank der Atmosphäre der Klosteranlage. Man wird zurückversetzt in Zeit und Raum, wozu die unaufdringliche, sich einschleichende Stille und Ruhe, dort oben, hoch über Lorch, beiträgt. Der Mittelaltertrubel und das "Gehabe" wird ruhiger, leiser und letztendes angenehmer und weckt die Vorstellung, wie es gewesen sein könnte. Ein besonderer Ort, ohne Zweifel.

Zur Anlage selber: der hier immer wieder hervorgehobene Vorwurf des Kommerzes und der Eintrittspreise, ist aus meiner Sicht nicht gerechtfertig. Die Pflege und der Erhalt der Anlage erfordern sicherlich deren Unterhalt in irgendeiner Form. Da das Gelände der Öffentlichkeit angemessen zur Verfügung gestellt wird: Führungen, Besichtigungen, das Abhalten einer Hochzeit dort, oder eben der Mittelaltermarktes, rechtfertigt die erhobenen Preise. Hier stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.
