Murnauer Moos — Attraction in Murnau am Staffelsee

This is a nice place for hiking. The terrain is mostly flat and trail follows through a forest for some part. You can find wild blueberries and strawberries along your path. There are picnic benches to relax and to regain some energy. There are two trails - Longer and shorter. We did the longer trail and it is approximately 12km. Cycling through the trail is also possible. There are paid parking lot, WC (moderately clean) and a nice Bavarian restaurant at the starting point of the trail. Simply and idyllic place. There are two walks you can take through here and they are both well worth it. The longer one is more rewarding though. A lovely Inn at the top of the walk makes it all worthwhile. Well-preserved and kept walkways through the marshland and clearly signposted, it's a must for a visit if you are near Garmish...

Warum nicht gleich den gesamten KFZ- Verkehr zulassen? Dieses Moor ist ein wundervoller, kostbarer Naturraum, der seinesgleichen sucht. Leider ist der Weg zu einer Radrennstrecke verkommen. Zwei kleine überfahrene Schlangen säumten den Weg, ständig muss man wegen heran rasenden Radfahrern beiseite springen, von komplentativer Naturbeobachtung kann keine Rede sein. Dann kann man auch gleich den gesamten Verkehr hier durchleiten. Zweiter Kritikpunkt: Bei der ersten Wegegabelung fehlt beim linken Abzweig ein Durchgangsverbotszeichen. Nimmt man diesen vermutlichen Beginn des Rundweges, landet man im empfindlichen Biotop und zerlatscht u.U. Gelege von Bodenbrütern.
