Heilstätte Grabowsee — Attraction in Oranienburg

We turned up yesterday (Sunday) without a reservation but spoke to the guy at the entrance who let us in. It's not cheap (€10 pp entry plus another €10 to take photos on your smartphone) but is an amazing site to explore. Once in you just explore the area by yourselves, and nearly everything is accessible in various states of decay. The site would definitely not pass a health and safety inspection and is not child friendly at all (eg stairs completely without bannisters, rubble and decaying wood everywhere). But an amazing glimpse in to what these sanatoriums were like, great street art and a beautiful setting on Grabowsee....

Visited this place for the second time. You have to make an appointment with Herr Hanke, the keeper of the property to make sure someone is there to open the gate for you and explain you how it works. The entry (between 10 and 30 Euros, depending if you plan to take photos) is fair and used towars their goal of purchasing the property. The Heilstätte is very big, there are many buildings to explore and almost all of them are very fragile, with stairrails missing and many collapsed floors, so it's probably not a place for kids and elderly people. Be sure to bring some bug spray; the mosquitos are strong...

Interessantes Gelände, anders als die Heilstätten in Beelitz, aber umfangreicher begehbar und in den Dimensionen des Gebäudekpmplexes kleiner. Die ein oder andere Installation von Kunst in und außerhalb der Gebäude bietet vielleicht für interessierte Besucher zusätzliche Anreize. Zu empfehlen ist gerade dafür der Besuch des ehemaligen Einkaufladens, der jetzt auf der Übersichtskarte als Fotoausstellung bezeichnet wird und in der Nähe vom Seeufer liegt. Auch bei Regen ist der Besuch lohnend, da die Dächer des Gebäudekomplexes (anders als in Beelitz) weitestgehend dicht sind. Es gibt im und im direkten Umfeld der Anlage keine nennenswerten Sanitären Anlagen (außer einer Komposttoilette am Eingang zum Gelände?) sowie auch keine versorgungstechnische Infrastruktur, wie z. B. ein Kaffee oder Imbiss, obwohl dafür Potential da wäre, da direkt am Gelände ein stärker frequentierter Rad- und Wander-/Joggingweg entlang geht. Die Zufahrt bedarf einer den schlechten Straßenverhältnissen angepassten Fahrweise, Parkplätze vor Ort sind räumlich bemessen. In einiger Entfernung (kurz vor der Rad-und Fußgängerbrücke über den Havelkanal) gibt es aber einen Parkplatz. Der Eintrittspreis von 10 Euro pro Person sowie die zusätzliche Gebühr für das Fotografieren sind angemessen und tragen sicherlich dazu bei die Betreuung und Sicherung der Anlage zu finanzieren. Alles in allem aktuell ein guter Tipp für Interessierte an Lost-Places, die abseits schon touristisch erschlossenen und daher meist überlaufenen Plätzen etwas neues...
