We visited The Prüm Sculpture Park or Skulpturenpark Hubert Kruft yesterday, and the park is really amazing. I was moved after visiting and reading the story of this park. I feel regret that I hadn’t talk to the owner( to be honest, I didn’t know that they are the park owner when I saw them). In the 20,000 square meters of sculpture park, you can see many small ponds and pavilions, herons, owls, falcons, bees, dragonflies, butterflies, spiders, horses, deer, bears, wild boars and fish bones etc. These creative and imaginative artworks and landscape designs show the harmony between art and nature. Walking in such a beautiful and quiet open-air museum is really unforgettable. In the past, traditional trades emphasized inheritance, which was passed down from ancestors to fathers, fathers to sons, and sons to grandchildren. It was a major way for traditional craftsmen to pass on their skills. Nowadays, this kind of inheritance is becoming less and less common, but the owner of this sculpture park, Hubert Kruft, learned the craft from his blacksmith father in this way, and now passed it on to his son Lukas. After five generations, his family has developed an old rural blacksmith workshop into a metal art design workshop. The precious craftsmanship is admirable. It’s a pity that their shop was not open on Sundays. The entrance cost only 3euros. For more information, one can check their informative website: https://www.skulpturenpark-kruft.de/park/?L=1

An 'art-meets-nature' corner, ideally placed along the idyllic river Pruem, a private property turned open air museum by very artistic and creative owners. Shop closed on SUNDAY, but park still open to public. Entrance fee (2.50€) can be slipped in a piggy bank at the very entrance. Considering the vast amount of work needed to maintain such a fancy garden, one cannot just slip by without paying. Pay attention to all the owls, wildhogs and farm animals surprising you from the bushes. Some overgrown insects may look worrying but still harmless. Enjoy the sound of original water fountains, the beautiful trees and the creative landscaping. No garden gnomes!!!

Lovely place to visit, the garden is filled with animal and insect sculptures. My husband, and kids (6 and 3 yrs) enjoyed walking around and admire the beautiful handmade art. There are places to sit and even to climb a tree. We spend around 1 hour there, if you bring lunch it can be nice for a picnic. Very sweet owner, the lady gave our two kids a butterfly and they loved it. Unfortunately the shop was closed when we left, of course they need a break to have lunch 😉.
