Burgruine Haltenberg — Attraction in Prittriching

There isn't much left of this castle, just one tower sticking out and a few walls. Tower itself is inaccessible at the time of my visit, so you can browse only on the outside.

There are some info panels if you are interested in more details and you can see that restoration works have started some time ago but they are obviously going nowhere. Shame, because this could have a lot more potential than this.

Also, parking few hundred meter from the ruin and it clearly marked on the road, though you may try to squeeze your car somewhere closer. Overall, it is worth a short trip if you are into walking in nature a bit, but...

A very nice place for a small brake and look around this 760 years old construction. The tower is closed so, you can't get up there and enjoy the surroundings from a higher place, but the summer green looks amazing around every brick. The nice thing about it is that you can park your car a few hundred meters away and take a nice walk to the destination. So if you're not in a hurry and eager to learn a bit more about history,...

Viel steht nicht mehr, eine Mauer, der restaurierte Turm und der notdürftig erhaltene Rest der Kapelle. Vor ca. 200 Jahren hat der damalige Besitzer das Schloss abbauen lassen und die Steine verkauft. Äußerst bedauerlich, denn es war mal sehr schön, mit einer sehr schönen Gartenanlage drum herum. Das kann man auf Zeichnungen sehen. Trotzdem sind die Reste auch heute noch sehenswert. Ein- bis zweimal im Monat ist Führung. Dann kann man auch den Turm besteigen, der sonst verschlossen ist. Oben ist ein großer Tisch, da kann man auch Kindergeburtstag oder ähnliches feiern. Die Aussicht ist gut, man kann den Lech sehen. Das Dach der Kapelle war mal eingestürzt. Das wurde mit einer Holzkonstruktion notdürftig ersetzt. Es sind auch noch zwei farbige Stellen an der Wand, welche von der ursprünglichen Bemalung herrühren. Alles in allem ein interessanter Stop bei einer Radtour. Ein Stückchen weiter ist das Naturfreundehaus, wo es Kaffee und Kuchen gibt. Das haben wir an dem Tag aber leider nicht...
