Lovely lake for swimming, even in quiet spots skinny dipping. There is a more public organised area that I haven't visited and also secluded spots along the north side of the lake. Unfortunately at certain times and weather conditions there can be a problem with biting insects.

Der Kirchsee ist ein Zungenbeckensee, der in der letzten Eiszeit entstanden ist. Er hat eine Fläche von etwa 42 Hektar und eine maximale Tiefe von 16 Metern. Das Wasser des Kirchsees ist dunkelbraun und sehr nährstoffreich. Dies ist den vielen Moorablagerungen am Grund des Sees zu verdanken.
Der Kirchsee ist ein Naturschutzgebiet, daher ist das Baden und Betreten der Uferbereiche nur an gekennzeichneten Stellen erlaubt. Campen und Feuerstellen sind generell verboten.
