I actually went here with my girlfriend (both of us 24), and we didn't expect to have many things to do as "grown-ups". But since the both of us are somewhat childish, we actually had a lot of fun here!
It's not Disney Land, but the roller coasters are decently fun and the landscaping is surprisingly nice. We managed to spend close to 10 hours here, which is more than enough time to be worth the trip. The price is also pretty low for what is offered.
Be warned though, it is DEFINITELY aimed towards young children. About 80% of the attractions are not interesting to or downright unusable by grown-ups and the place if overrun with kids. Far more so than e.g. Disney Land, which still offers a lot for older folks.
If you're not a kid, you can enjoy the landscaping, do a few of the rides, one pretty wild rollercoaster and attend a few shows. It's not a whole lot, but if you're willing to stroll a bit, you'll be able to fill your day.
If you can look past the fact that this place truly is designed for kids, or have kids yourself, the park is definitely worth a visit and somewhat of a hidden gem in the...
Read moreMy visit exceeded my expectations in many ways. The park is well-maintained and beautifully landscaped, offering plenty of shade to enjoy on sunny days. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly.
One of the highlights of my visit was the lack of crowds, likely due to it being a weekday with only decent weather. Interestingly, the coolest rides in the park for those over 140cm had no waiting lines, jump right in. Family rides only 5-15 mintues waiting. Small children rides, no waiting at all.
Another pleasant surprise was the accommodation for bringing your own food. We brought a self-made birthday cake, and they provided us with plates and utensils. Plus, the prices for food and drinks within the park were reasonable and not overpriced.
The park itself is quite expansive, and we couldn't manage to experience everything in one visit, which gives us a good reason to plan a return trip. Overall, Bayernpark left me thoroughly impressed and eager to come back for more family fun.
The only downside to Bayernpark is its distance from Munich; if it were closer, I would definitely visit more often...
Read moreBayern Park is a well-kept amusement park with some good rides and a reasonable price/performance ratio both in terms of park admission and catering. However, a park loses a lot of sympathy points as soon as the staff turns out to be incompetent, unfriendly and above all unenthusiastic. Sure, Bayern Park attracts tourists and you don’t have to like them, but elsewhere you force at least one or two smiles on your cheeks while you serve your guests professionally and without grumbling – why they don’t do it here is highly questionable, although it was only one day in the low-season.
Update March 2024: In recent years, the park clearly improved in almost all aspects. Recent development showed interesting and new ideas and the added attractions speak for themselves. Also, the staff was a lot friendlier...
